UGC TV

yesterday, couple of players have tried to see how things going on at HLTV/UGC-TV and it was resulted as a pure chaos in HLTV server when it maxed at 5/5.
every1 in server seemed very upset with this, so i dont think that was just me because of connecting from the other side of the planet

it was all like frame-by-frame.. even 1 frame per 2 seconds saometimes ;o
dont have any idea what was the reason of this. my ping was not like 500+ but everything felt so(to every1 i guess).

are we gonna be able to watch games live in this league?

(not sure if this topic belongs to Technical Support forum. is this a common problem for FF/HLTV..)

This is a common problem and to my knowledge has been happening since FF has been released. It would be nice if this were fixed.

What Kube said. Happened during UGC season one too.

Is this the only mod that this happens to?

Not sure. It's not engine-wide though.

I'm not 100 % positive But I believe it's because of the delay for the match's. Try joining a TV server that has no delay and see if the choppiness is still there.

another theory i had , but never had a chance to test, is if the TV server is recording, it may cause the issue, regardless what is causing the lag is not FPS, PING, or choke, it seems to be the "in" which during a normal game runs very low, but during TV stays in the high hundreds or low thousands, peeking at times to 2000ish

*****EDIT****
SOURCE TV FIXED me and rodox found the soloution, what you need to change server side will be posted by rodox here http://forums.fortress-forever.com/s...d.php?p=458006.
*****EDIT****

sorry for the double post but its been awhile and i have tried a few new things.

i did some testing, and match delays are not the cause, and neither are pre match's. so then i looked at recording, and found that both while recording and not recording hltv has the same problem with the spike once again only found at the "in". i also tested with and without players in game and in hltv.

in game with no players had almost no spike activity, but there was some even if it was small, this also goes with the corrilation of many people experiencing the spikes on explosions and conc blasts as well as shotgun blasts and other weapons fire.

the results don't change with more or less people in hltv. and the lag does not seem to be effected by the in game voice chat either, as there are times that multiple voice chats will go off and there will be no lag.

mono told me that CS:S is under the ep:1 engine, so i went to check that out, there are no lag issues there at all, atleast none related to the problem we have. CS:S also has the ability to use the other options in hltv that FF cannot use, such as player names, map overview, and minimap etc. even tho they show up in the FF hltv.

so has any coding been done at all to facilitate HLTV in anyway, like telling hltv what a player is and how to show names, or is this not supposed to be done by the mod? i also wanted to test some other third party mods that are under the ep1 engine but im not sure which ones are and which are OB so any help on that would be great.

also any other tests you guys can think of let me know so i can work on em.
