Hunted crashes the game.

Every time I've tried to play Hunted, it's always crashed. In one case, it prevented my PC from playing games powered by the Source Engine until I rebooted. I'm using 1.11, but I patched it from 1.0. Even when FF was still 1.0, it still crashed. What should I do?

Certain maps are more graphic intensive then others. Usually that means it's best for you to not play that particular map.

Post a reply with your systems specs and the settings you are running FF and we might be able to help you further.

Another issue might be with just that map. Maybe the file is corrupt. I would try deleting it and replacing it and see if that works.

It's our fault for not limiting texture memory, as far as I can tell.

In Hammer, you can "Show Information" for the map you're working on: cz2 shows 62 MB of texture memory and hunted shows 171 MB of texture memory.

171 is a lot, and that's what I've been casually working on reducing. It won't be in the next patch, but hopefully the one after.

We just wanted each building/area to look different. But what good is that when so many people don't even get to look?

i can play it fine, and i have a geforce 4MX with 128MBs of shared vRAM

I'm running it with a 7800GT in 1680 x 1050 with everything at max except AA. :P

Well then fuck me, I dunno.

Still gonna try reducing memory/resources usage in hunted...and probably get rid of the trees on the mountains, because I think they're the #1 fps killer.

Does anybody have a copy of Hunted that works and they can upload to Rapidshare or Megaupload? My copy might be corrupted.

I tired Geokill's version, but I'm still getting an error.

It's "Internal driver error in Direct3DDevice9:: present()". Any ideas?

the map is fine for many many ppl, its beautiful and plays well, just leave it be...

I've never been able to play hunted because it always crashes for me too.

I'm on Ahtlon XP 3000+
1gig ram
BFG 6800GT OC 256MB

Hopefully the new hunted version will work alright!

Unfortantely, you won't be getting the new hunted unless 2.0 takes longer to release. But I plan on working on hunted this weekend, so who knows.

hunted never crashed, but this one time it did give me very weird atrifacts. it turned all orange and yellow.
