Just practice. There's not much else to say.

- Fix the textures.
- The water shouldn't have ledges along the sides. That's all the immediately obvious stuff.

How can i make the texture just appear once, instead of having the textures repeat themselves, like how do i enlarge them?

I really suck at texturing. i mean im super horrible i just baisicly click FIT on everything unless it looks really horrible then i just mess around with the things and put it where i can live with it.
I dont release my maps yet but still. anyone have any good tutorials for texturing for n00bs ^_^ Id say take some ingame shots and post them here. So we can see your lighting and everything. But post them at like www.photobucket.com and send us the link so people who choose to look at them can and it wont warp the forum or take up space. |

Hit SHIFT + A.
You can maniuplate your textures from there pretty well. |

i still map for half-life a little bit, what i do is scroll through the textures until i find the right size, like 128x64, and then i make a block 128 units high. that way you will know it can fit.

although nowadays the default texture ratios are 0.25, so the brush has to be a quarter the texture size (or multiples of)
