So I've been playing random pubs for a few hours.

And nothing's really changed. Some people asked about it, but the MOST I've seen was 3 medics on a full 24 man pub. Yes, I do whip out my bonesaw to try to whack at some medics, but otherwise, that's about it. I'm focusing more on helping my team to win for OTHER achievements right now.

Played it for a couple of hours on pub (free weekend) and it was alright fun, though the graphics look totally awesome. But, I found playing any class other than scout not particularly great - it all felt really, really slow.

Dunno if I will purchase (even thought it's only a tenner)!

If there's still time left I'll probably give it a bash again later. I think the achievements/unlockables stuff look quite cool, though.

For beginners play the Pyro. Easy class and fair speed. It does feel slow at first but you do get used to it. Play on the Voogru servers for instant respawn.

Looks like Valve should change the name from Team Fortress 2 to Farming Forever.

Wow, you've convinced me to stop playing TF2. Ensiform FTW.

The new Achievements are shit because most of them don't happen in normal play. Unless you're very good, you're going to get blown away before you can do most of the achievements. I haven't started to get them yet, but part of me is temped to find somebody that'll help me farm them, because I am not waiting for stupid shit like "Bedside Manner", "Big Pharma" and "Sawbones" to happen naturally.

The Medic isn't very good on offense, and it seems like Valve is trying to make the Medic seem like the offense powerhouse he was in TFC with the achievements. Giving people incentives to play an attacking Medic does not make him a powerful attacker.

yeah right

if you team up with another guy that has an ubersaw, if done right, on a big open map (goldrush) you can beat anything. last night this random guy had an ubersaw so we both on the setup ubered ourselves up and i rushed while he ubered me and i got the 4 hits required for an uber and then ubered him..rinse and repeat.

we managed to take down some sentries (2 at different times), a sniper, countless medics and i think even a heavy before we lost each other and got killed.

the medic rush has almost completely died up. ever since sunday i haven't seen more than 3 maybe 4 medics on the same team.

If the enemy alowed you to uber rush, they are just stupid, plain and simple. Hell, I've been attacked by perma-ubered Medics (they were admins) and only managed to hit me twice in 20 seconds, because they were flying 80% of that time. If you managed to hit 4 times in different ocasions, you were playing against terrible players.

You can get at least six of them by just healing people. Two more will depend on the person you uber. And two of them just requires you to uber people you know. Unlocking the first 12 can be done almost with your eyes closed and still helping your team. Its after that when you get the farming problem.

I started up the free weekend and only played Medic. And I didn't play healing medic. I played combat medic.

The strange thing? It actually works, and is a hell of alot of fun.

Disclaimer: Yes I healed. I just didn't heal 100% of the time

Gold Rush is fun and a cool concept but point 1.2 and 2.2 let even the scrubbiest of scrub teams put up a good fight.

Goldrush is fun if the red team gets a 5 to 8 second respawn timer. On instant respawn its impossible to win unless you hire ninjas to kill the other players in their bed rooms.

Never got further than CP1.2 in GoldRush, neither as Offense or Defense.

Wait, we did once.

Never seen the end though. Maybe having 4 Medics in a 9 man team who try to get the Specialist achievement makes it a lot harder to capture the 2nd CP...

Goldrush ends in a huge explosion that kills anyone near the cart. If you survive you get to jump into a huge hole in the ground and die. Its awesome.
