I just took a skim through TF2's forum on Steampowered.com...I feel nauseous. There are just so many people who play that game and post on the forum, but that's cool...whatever.
What disturbs me is reading praise after praise after praise after praise for being the only naturally team-oriented game out there with those 9 dynamic classes! But I can't blame them for ignorance. VALVe's big orange billboards don't really leave room for much else to be seen. <--- I need an emotocon for "vomiting with rage" -Joker |

@Joker
LOL yes i know. I work in a self-employed trade. And the constant "hey how much is this?" "15 bucks" "you say 10?" "no 15" "come on man give me a break, 10?" "it's 15" "man i come in here all the time" "i think i saw you once before, a year ago, it's 15" "hey man, don't play me like that, how about 12?" "forget it, not for sale" "what?" "i said not for sale, now get out of my store" "look man, here, 15" "i said not for sale" "dude, i was kidding, you know how i kid around" "20" "what?!" "it's 20 bucks" "aw come on man..." etc etc day after day after day tend to have detrimental affects on a mind. Steam forums makes my dog vomit vehemently. Especially when people kiss-ass on the TF2 threads. Then, my dog has violent diarrhea. |

TF2 is more team oriented than FF. You can't do much on your own in TF2. You can run in and cap the flag no problem alone in FF. Both games are a lot of fun regardless.

What's your problem with TF2? It's actually a GREAT game - and I've been playing TF since QWTF. |

I think the bigger question is, what misguided mental function directs you back to this site every day?

Sobe, you may be right but I don't agree with you.
You missed my point though, I said that people were assuming that TF2 is the only game of its kind (team oriented, 9 classes, frag-filled.) You can not deny that that is false. exempli gratia: Team Fortress Classic! It's my impression that the current population of posters on the TF2 forum are people who've only heard of TF2 from VALVe's advertizements, and the consequence of this is a mind-numbing amount of ignorance. -Joker |

We know you love to condescend people and everything, Joker, but we can do without the underlining every second sentence.

And the winner is... FF!
Just wanted to point out, that I played the 3 most recent TeamFortress games (Team Fortress - Fortress Forever, Team Fortress 2 - Enemy Territory: Quake Wars and "Drugged Valve Developers nightmare" - Team Fortress 2) enough by now to be able to run around and try to force my beliefs on anyone who doesn't know how to mute me ^^
TF2 is imho completely out of the game. Tried it a few times, had a few sad laughs and deleted it from all of my computers but this one... but it's not updated ^^ Enemy Territory: Quake Wars is a great game for everyone who wants to play a game of Team Fortress 2 (anno ~1997). It has everything the freaks from Valve promised, so many years ago. Just like Battlefield or Enemy Territory do. (The old Battlefield even copied the "Pilot Class". Go, EA, go EA ^^) FF now, that's something else. It's not as fast paced as QWTF, even though the Soldier's Rockets feel just as fast to me (a blown up medic) The Bunnyhop is very slow (that's why I usually zig-zag all the time, except when I conc or trimp down a ramp...) but it has all the easy TFC features (cancelable reload, Hand-Held Concing and a single shotty to die... because of) that forced me to buy a 33.6k modem, when the stupid HL-Update with TFC was finally released ^^ There are very few things I dislike about FF: missing the upward trimp just feels wrong (in ETF, you'd see people conc against a ramp in order to trimp all around the map... but in Cornfield, you can doublejump out of the water and up to the first CP... that's fun as hell as well ^^). I also dislike how nearly everyone treats the midmap as the Deathmatch Zone, instead of a demilitarized zone (is there such a word?) especially with snipers, SGs and HWs... Ohh, yeah, HW seems like a powerhouse to me. In most TFs, when I realized I just ran into a HW, I could still infect the fatso, but here, he just mows down everything that moves... which is funny, since I felt the HW needed some buffs, back in the beta ^^ Why I still say, that FF is by far the best TF right now? No idea ^^ Movement feels great, even on rough ground outside the bases (I feared that'd cripple BH completely... guess I'm proven wrong) the weapons are really great. I hit with the shotguns and the Nailgun seems as strong as in pre-major update TFC (that TF1.5 bullshit) or ETF The grens fly really good, in ETF, I _NEVER_ directly hit someone with a gren... movement is intuitive... And so on. I just hope a lot of clans revive/start as soon as possible. |

ranibunny, I agree with you and I appreciate you expressiong your opinion but you have to realize that this is going to become another long, redundant, TF2vFF debate thread, and we've already got a handful of those (which each differ slightly in subject, and thus are justified in existing) around this forum. I suggest posting your opinion to the "#6 game" thread (which is the same as yours) and see how people take it there.
For now, though, this thread is cluttering board space and I vote that it gets locked. Again, more power to you rani but be organized about it -Joker |

Get your facts straight. ETQW is not a fortress game, was never designed to be. If your going to say that then every MP-FPS that lets you play a different role is a fortress game, and shit it wouldn't even be called fortress with games prior to TF with alternate roles. Replace ETQW's with Q4F if you'd like since they did have an alpha release and never made it to public.
