Modern episodes of the Simpsons aren't all that funny. After so many I suppose you can't keep it up. The really early ones from the 90's are good, I enjoy episodes from the first series the most. The drawing and animation is less detailed which gives it an odd but has a entertaining quality, well after viewing the newer ones it's amusing.

Paft while the newer episodes aren't as consistantly funny you do get the occasional highs with good episodes, I think the simpsons had the best episodes in seasons 3 & 4. I still enjoy watching any episode though, I think the appeal of the original series comes from the fact that they aren't re-run to death, they're rarely aired so you usually forget some of the stuff that happens in them making them seem more fresh, that combined with the fact that they're classic comedy makes them winners in my book
