It depends on what slot(s) you have, just PCI or do you have an AGP too?
Anything for around 60+ will be great. Regular PCI's are almost none existent. I'm sure you have AGP anyway. Last edited by o_paft; 02-19-2007 at 03:16 PM. |

BT, I have an 800XL and I've had it for a couple of years (IIRC). It runs fine but it's certainly not going to be my Crysis/Supreme Commander/C&C3 system. For the next generation of games PCI-e will be the way to go IMO. AGP is to PCI-e what PCI was to AGP. A dead end for those who game. If you're intent on buying a latest and greatest AGP then Nvidia is going to be more powerful...this is despite me prefering ATi. |

back in the days of the Nvidia Ti's ATi had stronger VPU's i have yet to know what the benchmark comparison is now between these two companies. all i know is AMD + ATi = better hardware communication now because of their merger their chips are based off of eachother.

I had a GF6800XT and it ran hl2 and css with everything maxed out, 1024* @ 100 fps. No variation, even on css with 30 players on the server, on dust2 with HDR on
Btw, I had to get another vga, since it was that what was causing the whole crashing problem on my comp, I have a sucky 6200LE now, I'll probably get a 7900 soon |

I would suggest to WAIT for ATI's Directx10 cards........Low End Nvidia's Directx10 cards.............or buy 8800 GT/S/X right now.
edits: woops, i read you don't have pci-e slot . Ugh, buy a new motherboard and get a pci-e card....such as the ones I suggested. |
