I don't like wireless. It seems to be law that the battery will run out at the least convenient time.

I know that many gamers swear by the MX series Logitechs. I use Microsoft. Suggestion, decide how much you want to spend and go to a store like Best Buy and check em out and see what fits you best.

I've used computers on a daily basis for over (i really don't want to give the correct number here) years and the gamer model Logitech wireless has been the best mouse I've ever used. Resolution is excellant and I can't remember one time that a surprise battery level has stopped me.

I love my MX1000. I got it randomly for a christmas present. At first I was like... oh boy a new mouse I didn't ask for a new mouse but now it's awesome.

im pretty happy with my intellimouse Opticle. 4 buttons and a wheel, lightweight. i dont need anything fancy. i use funky controls anyway.

no , ive been told "how can you play that way?"

D= strafe left
F= strafe rt
A= alt fire
left mouse button= fire
rt mouse button= forward
lower rt mouse button= backward

the major ones anyway.

I just picked up an MX518, quality mouse. Set to 1600 DPI, I can move the mouse a tiny amount and still get very responsive tracking. It's great for CS rifle work and precision work in PS etc. Only downside is that it's a touch pricey.

i have a logitech mx500 which is going nicely (wired). mx510 is the newer one though. i used the mx700 wireless and hated it, it seems slightly delayed or something. mx1000 might be better, i don't know.

other than that, just don't get a MS Intellimouse Explorer v4 if you bhop using the wheel. it doesnt have any 'bumps' and for some reason it's just impossible to bhop with. i'm glad the store i bought it from let me return it for that reason heh.

I have a few of these black optical mouses with gray buttons and a scroll wheel. They have a logo of a computer companie making me think that they are the free ones that come with computers... But they work great. I like my 2 HP ones more then the Compaq one but thats BC the Compaq's scroll wheel is worn down. :P

No idea where you would get one of these but I love 'em.

ive had this same intellimouse explorer for as long as i can remember. yes its VERY dirty from years of use from my grubby hand, but it works almost perfectly still. all ive found wrong with it was a skate came off and the left mouse button gets a bit sticky sometimes, but nothing major

Get a MX510, and 'overclock' WinXP's USB polling rate to 500Hz, and you'll have smoothness supremé.

MX310 all the way, light, agile and not bulky like most mice these days. I have a MX1000 as well which is great for anything but gaming, it weights too much and is inferior in tracking at high speed.

Thanks. I was thinking of getting either the MX518 or the Razer DiamondBack. Not sure though. I might go for the MX518 because it is cheaper.
