2.2 lag issue

Since installing 2.2 been having lag like issues on all maps. Its not constant, but there will be times I'm running and then all of a sudden I will hit a wall. Or I tap my movement button and it takes as second for me to move. Or I will be running along and then I'm a few paces back.

Its stuff like that that. My ping is normal, I don't see any spikes, fraps says I'm getting 60 to 120 fps. Nothing else has changed except for the FF patch.

Should I consider reinstalling it from scratch?

Anything else I should try before I reinstall?

Anyone else having lag like issues?

I think I found the problem though its strange.

I had utorrent running in the background. It was only uploading at around 20k/sec (I have it set to use no more then 45k/sec for upload which is a little less then half my upload bandwidth) and it wasn't downloading anything.

Anyway with 2.1 I had no problem running both, but soon as I switched to 2.2 I had the problem.

The downloads speed in steam is set properly, I have always but it to the max setting.

Nothing else has changed though. Just 2.2 :/

I guess I can't upload or download in the background while playing.

Only upload can effect you're ping/lag in-game.

That's not true at all. However, upload can very severely impact your ping, even at lower rates.

There's a sort-of fix that allows more half-open concurrent TCP connections that might alleviate your problem, google half-open limit fix.

ya I know about that problem, but it just seems strange that I was able to play while I had utorrent uploading when it was 2.1 and then after I installed 2.2 was installed it starts acting up.

I don't think anything was changed in regards to the way FF connects to a server, so...?

I'm applied the half-open fix, I'll see if that helps. I thought I had already done that fix but it seems like the last time I reformatted I forgot to do it.

I too begun to have lag issues.

My internets are fine, but my ping was spiking double what it normally is. I talked to a buddy in game on our server, and he advised me to delete the clientregistryblob.file. He made sure to tell me to exit steam, then delete it, then restart.

My ping was back to normal, and stayed that way till today, logging on. I exited steam, deleted, restarted, joined, normal ping. Something to think about, although Im sure valve will shoot a patch out to fix this issue or w/e.

See you in game.
