Hammer Kills my HDD
When I open hammer my hard drive freaks out. Clicks every second or so and completely freezes up my computer.
I forced power off and then It attempted to boot, but nothing. Rebooted into bios. Didn't even recognize the drive. Switched off PSU for a minute, rebooted, took a while to boot. Seems to be running fine now. My hard drive makes no sense. It needs to either die or work. Last edited by Pixel; 07-23-2010 at 10:41 AM. |

Check the basics:
Check the System and Application logs in the WEL and see if you find any clues to the behavior. You might also look at replacing the drive cable and/or running diagnostics software from the drive mfr to see if it's reporting an error. See if you can find any Hammer specific freeze issues... Have you tried this?

Couple days later my PSU died. Hammer runs fine now. Odd.
