whenever i create an entity (control + T), i click something else, it reverts back to World. help?

Go to View -> Screen Elements and make sure "Selection Mode Bar" is checked. Then, go to the (usually) right-side-toolbar and find "Select". Under it, there are three buttons. Make sure either "Groups" or "Objects" are pressed. If "Solids" is pressed, it ignores entity properties and just selects the brush.
