Postal - The Movie.
German producer-director to bring Running With Scissors' controversial game series to big screen.
Uwe Boll put another notch in his gamepad, as developer Running With Scissors announced that the game-centric director-producer has signed on to help bring its controversial Postal series of games to the big screen. Boll, whose cinematic adaptations of House of the Dead and Alone in the Dark have been notoriously shunned by gamers and critics alike. He described the movie as "Pulp Fiction meets Falling Down meets Wag The Dog," and said that just like the game, it will show that a task as mundane as cashing a check can be a big adventure. When asked why he focuses on violent games for his movie adaptations (all but one of his movies are based on M-rated games), Boll merely said "A lot of games are violent. And on a personal level, I love violent movies." He added that there weren't any E-rated games he'd be interested in adapting to the big screen. Boll was chosen for the project in part because of the controversy surrounding him, Running With Scissors CEO Vince Desi said. "He is truly independent, and his controversy excites us. And we have no fear." In announcing the movie deal, Running With Scissors claims that Postal is Boll's all-time favorite game. "I see it like a mirror for our society--funny, violent, absurd!" Boll said. "So then the movie must be powerful, strange, and so full of the game's political incorrect outrageousness that if we do it correct, we will all probably end up in jail!" Desi also indicated that the movie won't shy away from the controversial and violent subject matter of the games. In fact, one of his motivations for making the movie was "because you're limited to what you can show in a game." Desi also confirmed that Gary Coleman, who had a cameo appearance in Postal 2, will "absolutely" be involved in the movie. Postal will begin shooting in 2006, with a planned release in 2007. Isn't this just American Psycho but with more violence and worse "everything"? Don't get me wrong, I loved that movie, but I think there shouldn't be anything close to the Norman Bates character unless the protagonist of Postal (rightly named "The Postal Dude") is played by none other than Christian Bale. someone really should just find this director and shoot him. like, literally. it would be ironic, i'm sure he'd revel in that.

Postal was a shit game that people only ever heard of because it was 'controversial', I seem to remember that Postal 2 was better?
Why is this a film of the game, rather than just a film about the phenomena of 'going postal' after which the game was made? |

This reminds me of all the n00b mappers who were making 'school maps' after colombine. They all of course claimed they weren't doing it to get attention, which might have been believable if any of these maps hadn't sucked.

Haha this movie is going to be gore upon gore fest.
What I don't get is how a german can make such a movie since germany is very strict in cencurship, lol. They are going to have to edit it down to 20 minutes or so rofl. |

i just hope the guy urinates on the people in the jail after he pours the gas on them and lights them up.
i really wish it was a different guy making an adaptation of this game. this guy is a terrible fuckup. house of the dead was quite possibly the worst movie i have ever seen, tied with vampire clan. even vampyaz: brothaz in blood was better than those two. |

I thought Team America was a huge, mostly unfunny, disappointment.
The one thing this has going for it- it's a comedy, and it knows it sucks. Because the only thing worse than a movie that sucks is a movie that sucks but thinks it's the most profound thing ever. See: AI and Battlefield Earth. God do I want to beat the shit out of someone for making me suffer them. |

My friends and I watch Uwe Boll films in the theater. We go to make fun of them and laugh at how poorly made they are.
In Alone in the Dark for example; aside from the poor song choice during the sex scene with Tara Reid (Titled "7 Seconds to Make a Baby") they didn't remove the clear blooper of Tara Reid pushing Slater's hand away because he was grab assing during the scene. Sadly, that's one of the better movies Uwe Boll has made. The man is not good at his trade. He really should give up and start doing something else. |
