FF Icons
If anyone wants some icons for FF for your desktop, I've just made a couple for myself.
http://www.darkreavers.co.uk/files/ff_icons.zip They're large .png versions. If anyone needs smaller ones or .ico versions let me know and I'll make some. Last edited by DarkReaver13; 03-16-2007 at 03:51 PM. |

Whilst it they are only simple shapes and gradients, presumably vector- it all works well, like simple things normally do.
Personally I'd adjust the colour slightly, but good job anyway mate. |

I wish I could make stuff like that.
But here is a .png of the Fortress Forever and TFC icon inluded in the "Valve World Icon Pack" something or other that was on Hl2Files.com. I forget the authors name and don't have the link, just saved on my computer. http://img64.imageshack.us/img64/846...forevergi1.png http://img478.imageshack.us/img478/5...ortressjq9.png edit: just found the link http://halflife2.filefront.com/file/...con_Pack;46231 some icons are poo-poo but most are good replacements for the ugly standard ones |

Style is OK but the colours are not to my taste. They are too close to purple and they are too deep and saturated this is all subjective so people's views will differ.

Thanks for all the comments.
Yea they were dead easy to make; took like a couple of minutes. Just recently taken a liking to simple vector graphics/icons for my desktop, so I made these to go with it. The colours, well yeah, they're what I like, but would take 2 seconds to adjust. I'm dead happy with 'em anyway, just thought I'd share. I've got the icon sat on my desktop just waiting to point to FF.. Oh - and the reason I actually made the icons was because I didn't like the one in the "Valve World Icon Pack" lol - I wanted one with the "two F's" logo. |

Yeah I hate that Icon Pack's FF logo, double Fs look so much better
the colors in the png, are too much I thought at first but once I converted it to a .ico it looks 2 million times better |

I got bored and had a couple minutes to spare so I corrected it and made my own. If the scale is off its because I started from scratch so I threw in the psd link for those interested. I'm by no means a Photoshop guru so telling me how much it sucks isn't gonna matter. All the layers are there so have fun with it.
And oh yeah, its a 24-bit PNG so IE6 and other crappy browsers don't render the transparency correctly. Click here for .psd |

I was talking about in general. An icon doesn't have to be overly shiny to be an icon or for it to be attractive. Some more modern icons do tend to have a glossed or glaze look to them but only a hint.

Well that 2nd icon in the OP isn't all that shiny, it's about the same as the MSN ones.
