There are no viruses or trojans of ANY kind in FF.

If anything like that ever happened, the file hosts would drop their hosting and the online magazines and such would tear us apart.

Not to mention all of us would have already been infected by said virus.

It sounds like this guy has a personal grudge against Mervaka. I can't tell what kind of basis he has for it... but being as Mervaka's got a cooler name, I'm gonna throw benafit of the doubt here and say this guy's made some kind of mistake and needs to chill and perhaps help us understand him better. It seem a lot of the translation programs can't handel the different in conjugation between the two languages.

It seems you would need to know both languages, or at least how Russian is conjugated in order to easily understand what's being said. We know not every word is the same, but I'm sure the definition of said word exists in english.

Come on we're the only language so have so many different ways of saying the same damn thing.

well No Interleaving does understand it and he actually translated the last one for us so that was cool.

No Interleaving, can you just type out the gist of what he is attempting to say in his original post? I know that it may not translate perfectly, but can you just say he is trying to say:

EDIT: The rest of the crap he said really doesn't matter IMO b/c if Mervaka can figure out his original post then he can just talk to him about that. there is a lot of unneeded BS in this thread.

Let me try and re-write for you. (You is referring to no interleaving.)

"The rest of the stuff he said doesn't matter, in my opinion. Because if Mervaka is able to understand the original post then he can just discuss the issues presented there. There is a lot of uneeded information in this thread."

Direct translations for you:
BS = Bull Shit
IMO = In my opinion
b/c = Because

Agreed! If we want to communicate effectively, we had better start using proper English. Keep in mind that some people whose native language is not English could be relying on the dictionary to figure out what you are saying. So please, stop using colloquial "web-talk" and stick to formal English.

That is a misspelling of Unneeded. Which means "not needed".

Oxford English = proper English

No Interleaving and Sucker both have IPs from Germany(DE) and
trace to: 62.154.126.150 (ISP) at Deutsche Telekom AG, until they timeout.

So we have 2 FF guys, speaking the same Russian dialect, they both live in Germany and are on the same ISP?

edit - Mertert is on the border with Germany

I'm sorry No Interleaving, I sometimes get caught up in using the online wording.

BinaryLife translated what I was saying exactly.

There is a lot of unneeded information in this thread. This can all be solved by translating his original post for Mervaka.

Yes, I know sucker, so I will not deny that we are friends.

I do not know whether what you know about proxy servers. In any case, you should know something when the internet.

Unfortunately, I can not tell you what he said, because I do not know what he meant with the worm has, I believe he meant no animal.

Maybe it is better you ask him what he meant.

The problem with asking him is that apparantly he does not understand english, which most of us only understand. So, he would not understand us telling him that we don't understand.

You shouldn't feel obligated to translate, as this is a message bored. But you're communicating well with us in English thus far so you know quite a bit. If a worm is being mentioned, and it is not an animal would it be wrong to assume that he is referring to a computer virus?

As in, a replicating, malicious computer program?

*edit*
If you can get what he said into English, as long as it is better than the google translations and such, I can help with making sure it makes sence to everyone else. I know that sometimes things don't make sence when they are translated. But it isn't hard for us to take the extra step. Especially if you're willing to help us out.

He is not surprised by what he has done, so he wants to know how he could explain his actions, and he asks him to speak but no answer from mervaka.

Why was such a big thing? Have you no respect for your fellow human beings?

I have to write understood as follows:

It was something found, something malicious in any way what is bad what is unfortunately on the data.

That is an example, what is it:

Have him post a screenshot or just the message that told him that something malicious was found in the Fortress Forever files.

No one else has found anything malicious in the files, and there is no reason to believe that it was mervaka that would have done it.

Mervaka has not answered because he doesn't know what is being asked of him or what he is being accused of doing. Now it looks like Sucker is accusing mervaka of putting malicious files in the Fortress Forever installer, and I can say that there are absolutely no malicious files in the Fortress Forever installer, and that Sucker's accusations are 100% false.

You think that is only a screenshot? It isn't.

800*600 with 1MB at the filetype ".jpg".

Open the picture with 7zip, winrar or something.

No, proper English is Queen's English (also know as King's English, BBC English or Received Pronunciation) if you reside in England.

In America, proper English is Ebonics. Ahem, eh, I am actually getting ahead of myself here...Let me rephrase. By year 2030, proper English in American is called Ebonics.

this is exactly my position. i dont know for sure what's being said, but i think most people have got the jist of it. however, i cannot give an answer other than that the main FF site does not host malicious files. we cannot speak for the mirrors, however. that entirely boils down to them. i'll ask the wiki team about getting MD5 hashes on the downloads wiki page.

Alright, I see what you are saying. Where did this image come from? What folder in the Fortress Forever directory? Plus, my virus scan doesn't detect any malicious files in the hidden archive (ctupdate4x64mas.zip).

EDIT:
It looks like this is a German update program. Here is the content of "ctupdate4\doc\history.txt"

a) Statisch definierte Updates

a) Statisch definierte Updates
- Service Pack (SP)
- Windows Update Agent (WUA)
- Microsoft Installer (MSI)
- Windows Script Host (WSH)
- Internet Explorer (IE)
- KB887616 (Office 2003 Service Pack 2 (veraltet))
- KB923618 (Office 2003 Service Pack 3 (wird ggf. implizit installiert))
Looks like it definitely did not come from the Fortress Forever installer.

It is only an example. Made by me.
I understood: sucker have found one file with worm support.

Look: one picture + one archive = "new picture with archive support"
Example: .bsp file + worm.exe = "new .bsp" file

If you don't touch (double-click) the "new .bsp" file you have no problem.
If you have done a double-click on the "new .bsp" file, worm installed.

I hope you can understand it, again it is only an example with the bsp file.
He have nothing said about the worm exactly. Only how it works.

@ battery

Wikipedia said to Ebonics it is "African American Vernacular English".
Is that correct?

Yes, that is correct, ebonics in "African American Vernacular English"

On topic:
So he found a file that contains a virus (worm)? Does he explain what he found the virus in?
