When i create my own server, it reloads fine. When i join a server with players on it, when it reloads, it flickers and disappears and reappears very quickly many times when reloading instead of doing the animation. Sometimes it does the 1st reload normally, but then the preceding reloads do the flickering stuff. The reload sounds dont play at all either. Its not like the pipe launcher, where it sticks in an animation bug and plays a short segment over and over. I think its supposed to be doing the animation, but for some reason it disappears instead. Doesnt it do that for u when u join a server? If not, could it have anything to do with incorrectly placing files, or conflicting with other files. Does it have anything to do with my pc or graphics settings. What can it be?

It seems to be the same issue my tranq model is having, only bugging in online play which really really really doesn't make sense to me. Servers enforcing something? Servers calling animations that aren't existing? WTF is going on?
EDIT: Conclusion from above statement - I think servers are actually calling activities to the models that may not exist on custom models. I don't see why first-person animation activity calls are server side though =(. Seriously coders? |

Well pf said that both the server and the client must run the same animations no? I remember back before pf was in the dev team he made a medkit animation. It was buggy, he said the servers need to have the same medkit animations for it too work.

Yea I'm guessing it's so weapon animations will be compensated with lag to the server. Still trying to think of a fix. I was thinking just replace things I'm not using with 1 frame animations so they aren't even noticed.

Works online. Had to sacrifice some smoothness to fill all the animation calls. Last edited by Jester; 10-15-2008 at 07:12 PM. |

Yeah it didn't make much sense to me either.. why would v_model anims be dependant on server side stuff.. but yeah.
