Any tester who spells their title with a "z" at the end deserves to be replaced immediately.

I actually read through the entire beta tester and dev list and not a single person's name ends in z. Sucks for you.

Oh, then you might have a problem with one of the maps I made. It's called ff_sheepz_makez_youz_sleepzzz.bsp.

It's a new playstyle I created called "CTL", or "Capture The Lamb". You have to tackle a baby sheep running it around and then bring it back to your team's capture point (an open-bit barbecue). The team who captures gets rack of lamb and Coronas.

Eh, I suppose it comes down to your opinion as to "how minor" the flaws in TFC are. IMO, there are very few that actually disrupt competitive play, and they can be dealt with and regulated easily.

However, I don't understand this...

Yes, you are a tester and have more experience with FF, but I can't think of a single dramatic gameplay change the devs have made. Everything that was great about TFC looks to be intact (left alone), the annoying things have been improved, and a couple of new things (double-jump, SG sabatoge, etc) have been added. What's wrong with that assumption?

Almost complete list of changes.

All Classes:
- Speed increased.
- Trimping/Reverse Trimping.
- Double-jump.
- Jump queueing/implemented bhop.
- Visual grenade timers.

Scout:
*snip*

Sniper:
- Sniper rifle tags unkilled enemies.

Soldier:
- Faster rocket firing speed.
- Faster rocket reload.

Demoman:
- Variable timer detpack.

Medic:
- Curing infections grants immunity.

HWGuy:
- Assault Cannon tracks heat, can overheat.

Pyro:
- Incendiary Cannon affected by gravity ("mortar style")
- IC "boost" (splash push) increased.
- Flamethrower way buffed.
- Flamethrower can be used like a weak jetpack.
- Napalm, IC, and Flamethrower damage stack as burn levels.

Engineer:
- Sees buildings before attempting.
- *snip*

Spy:
- Can cloak [either silently or loudly, which drops a ragdoll]
- Can sabotage SGs and Dispensers
- Can steal an enemy's disguise via backstab.

-----------------------

I'd say it's more QWTF + other shit than it is TFC.

'Course, TFC didn't make a single dramatic gameplay change (engine aside) from QWTF. Nor has any TF really done so. They're all minor changes, really, but who has ever claimed that Q3TF/ETF were based on TFC, and used that as a strict basis for comparison? Not nearly as many as we're seeing with FF.

Circ, I appreciate the list (didn't even know some) and I get your point... but you have to realize, those changes were made by the devs primarily because they correspond to flaws/shortcomings/unbalances in TFC.

The game is based off TFC... all of those changes would work in TFC. You could just as well patch TFC with those changes and have a much better game in MUCH less time; however... gameplay aside, TFC is also severely outdated. So, FF represents a giant patch plus new graphics and updated physics (with some personal creative touches)... the perfect game.

I think most devs would agree if I said they used their experiences in TFC to judge what needed to be changed for FF.

Starcraft is not Warcraft in space.

FF is not TFC on Source.

Umm yeah ok... Starcraft is a completely different game than Warcraft... just what the fuck does that have to do with TFC and FF?

Terrible analogy considering the background and motivation for making the games are COMPLETELY different in these situations. One one hand you have a professional dev. team looking to take a new direction with their success in the RTS genre. On the other hand you have a group of TFC fanatics that would do anything to see the true spirit of their favorite game live on... even if they had to do it all themselves, for free.

Hopefully they are putting a final trailer together for a release date announcement. That would be best.

The Nail-Nade/Mirv Exploit has been fixed.
That, my friend, severely changes pub-server gameplay. Sure, many admins will kick or ban someone for that....but, how many TFC servers out there have admins on the server on a regular basis?
