USERID Ticket Error FIX

Edit2: I found this on the Half-Life 2 CTF forums. It looks like their mod is using the 2006 SDK as well. They suggest that you delete everything in your steam folder except Steam.exe, and the steamapps and friends directories. They mention that it will cause steam guard to trigger if you have it enabled. I'm going to give it a try, and see what happens. I'll let you know.

So to recap go into your steam folder as if you were going to delete the client registry.blob but delete everything except 3. You want left behind are 2 folders and a .exe.

Leave the steamapps folder , friends folder, and steam.exe (looks like the steam Icon not to be confused with the sub folder steam) This worked for me and everyone else I have encountered.

I just did this and it worked.
however you will lose all your screenshots so be sure to UPLOAD THOSE COOL SKYRIM SCREENSHOTS FIRST OMG.

I didnt really believe that you needed to delete everything, so I did a test.

I deleted everything in the steam folder but left all the sub folders. I also deleted the users folder.

That seemed to do the trick, so i'm guessing the corrupt file is one of the dlls in that directory..

Thanks, been getting this ever since 2.43 and just thought the game was broken.

Edit: It was something on Steam's end, because I was getting the error on all Source 2006 modifications

I am having trouble understanding what you did here... what are the "sub folders" and how did you leave them after deleting EVERYTHING?

The only thing in my steam folder is logos and "offline_english"...

If you're having the problem, all you need to do is exit steam, delete your userdata folder in your steam directory, and restart steam.

No need to go through what aftershock did.
