whhhhheeeee! Yeah, they renamed UT2k7. I'm a little disappointed that it's getting console releases, too, but whatever. Just means it will (hopefully) scale back okay for those of us with slightly aging systems.

Other than FF & HL:EP2, this is really the main game I'm looking forward to in 2007. I was never much for raw deathmatch or CTF, but Onslaught in UT2k4 won me over. Not quite as addictive as TF, but it had a similar mix of strategy, action, and teamplay that I enjoyed.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how the Necris vehicles balance out the classic stuff from 2k4. Those things look positively wicked.

Wow everything looks great and I just got UT2k4 today. I'm installing it now. UT3 will not run on my comp. Maybe i'll see it oneday and maybe even get to play it.

UT2k4 is a steal now for $10. Worth it for Onslaught alone, and the free bonus packs add more maps and vehicles.

UTIII should run okay on my system I expect, just not cranked:
P4 3.47ghz
2.5GB RAM
6800GT 256

If it will run on a 360 okay, most of us should be able to run it on our current rigs. Not quite as smooth or pretty, but it's the gameplay I'm interested in right now.

Previous system requirement estimates put our machines as quite capable of playing it, just not at max settings. I'm not sure where you are getting your info. And like I said, I think our systems are at least on par with an XBox 360, which is getting a version.

It would seem sort of dumb that my machine could play about everything out there now at max settings, then suddenly not be able to even load a game next Fall PC tech moves fast, but that's a bit ridiculous.

Keep in mind that these are not official requirements from Epic, nor final. What we know is that the game will take advantage of technologies such as dual core processors, AGEIA compatible Physics chips and Shader Model 3.0.

If it's playable on my current system, I'll be happy. And remember, Epic has a vested interest in making sure the game scales down reasonably well- otherwise they are shutting out potential customers interested in the game.
