That's why I don't reserve games, I really see no point.
It's just a way for them to steal your money before you buy a game.

Well, it was only 5 bucks, but still, that worries me, because what if I had put 10 or even $15 down... then I would demand my money back. But it's only five, so I'm not going to say anything.

Never preorder anything at Gamestop. I've had them forget my preorders twice, and I had to fight with them even though I had the receipts.

Hell, I wouldn't really recommend buying anything there, either. Such a ripoff. Whenever they ask you to buy a strategy guide with your game, I always picture a fast-food employee asking, "Do you want fries with that?"

As a rule of thumb I never preorder a game unless I have confirmation that it will be coming out.

I'm sure you preordered it prior to Steam. It's kinda pointless to preorder anything Valve makes now from a retail store unless you don't have a broadband connection. You can just preorder it through Steam, have it already downloaded ahead of time, and download a small update to make the game available the second it is released.

It could be the case that they have already done all of the content already and are just sorting out promo build up, advertising, packaging and so fourth. Remember that HWGUY video? They could be working on more of those.

Probably balancing etc aswell, though I am not convinced they will succeed in doing so.

No, I think the delays are LARGELY TF2-related. The videos we saw didn't showcase the medic at all (except for a bit of pre-rendered glove-stretching and him standing there a couple of times), leading me to believe that there are (or were) chunks of animations that aren't done.

Thats not the real date. I have credible information from a trusted source that the rapture will occur about 3-4 weeks before, causing a delay in the release (and/or death of developers).

The guy from CAD was saying that they were taking pre-orders for StarCraft 2 which is scedualed to be released in TWO YEARS. As he said, who knows what will happen in TWO YEARS. Hell, Blizzard might not even be around.
