Possibly a dock app, dock background set to invisible with a custom set of icons?... made specifically with wallpaper so it seems.

The actual style of the icons was something I originally saw someone else do but I decided to customise it to my own tastes so I made all of the icons myself.

I am currently using RocketDock to display them although I'd prefer not to have to use any dock software at all. I tried ObjectDock as well but it enforces such a large gap when you use separators it prevented all of my icons fitting on the screen so I dumped it in favour of RocketDock.

The main reason I went with text only icons was because you simply cannot find good high resolution icons for all the programs you use. You always end up with one or two looking strange or being the wrong size and ruining the whole effect.

That's why I turn zoom off and and resize the dock/icons to the same size as windows icons. 32x. Better anyway I think.

Disabled ObjectDock for the time being whilst trialing Launchy.

Nothing I could do would change the size of the separator though, not even loading a smaller custom image would do it. There doesn't appear to be any configurable option to alter the size of the separator aside from reducing the size of the icons. Reducing them might physically reduce the size of the separator, but it doesn't really help since it's just scaling the entire problem down.

RocketDock also seems to use less resources, although that's not really an issue on todays high spec machines it's always nice.
