My Next Map: ff_mist?
My current mapping projects are coming to a close, and I was pondering the next one I want to work on. Here's what I have in mind:
Map Title: FF_Mist? Gametype: Hide & Seekish. Theme: Multi-story fortress/japanese-themed compound on tall japanese rock islands. Open center of the map, with corridors and elevators between them surrounding it. Guards Class: Any except spy. Objective: The compound has been infiltrated. Hunt down the spies and eliminate them. Spies Class: Spy Only. Objective: ? This is what I need help with. There are several options:

You could have the spy do spy-like things like:
I'd say to give spies several objectives. Adding a hunted-type person might work better if you make the hunted a pc that's not a civ. I'd recommend limiting Red Team to one or two scouts. |

I say no scouts. The fact that they can just brush up on spies and uncover them... not cool.

Change the title to FF_Myst and use scenes and music from the original Myst game. Sure would be fun to experience!

i like the idea a lot, especially the spy only concept. i had similar ideas for AgencyHQ in tfc but never got around to finishing it and ended up converting it into an unfinished escape map

If one team has only spies, the enemy team will most likely be shooting at everyone all the time, so the disguises won't be very usefull. Then again, I don't exactly know how the cloaking works...

All great ideas. I would like to do 'spy-like things', if possible. Perhaps something rock2 like, where the spies have to steal some documents, then sneak them out a certain exit?
But again, i kinda want the spies on the defensive, and i want to avoid the Guard team just camping some objective... Other ideas to gain this end? |

You could have a 3rd team as a hunted, and have him be a spy [so he can pretend to be a guard]. Then enable FF so the guards wont just be shooting the shit outta everything.
Thus, you are left with spies who try to make 1 shot kills always, and a hunted thats all stealthy and shit. The second an enemy spy shows up, the guards would be able to automatically realize wtf just happened and own him. But.. there are some problems with this. |

you could have the spies do all those objectives and let them run around the map, also make it possible to choose an order for completing objectives so you cant predict where their next move will be, or it whould result in spamming that objective..
