...and then there's THIS idiot...

Clicky Clicky

Yet another attention-whore dipshit causing trouble. I'm not saying he doesn't have the right to do it(although local restrictions about what can be burned say otherwise).... but I'd say it's not the best move.

My opinion is that this guy is going to get put on a Jihad assassination list somewhere, and yeah, it's going to spark outrage and violence against non-Muslims all over the place.

It's kinda sad that the news organizations are giving this douche publicity... if news of it never got out, then no repercussions would happen. Once the shit hits the fan over this(ie: Soldiers and civilians being attacked and killed), survivors of their families should be allowed to bitch slap this guy.

As much as I despise this man, I think it's absolute bullshit to blame him for 'increased danger' to our soldiers' lives, especially when the blame is being thrown on him by the media. I'm tired of people pretending like they care for the troops. If you cared for them, you wouldn't have sent them off to fight an illegitimate war in the first place. You only care for the fucking troops when it's beneficial to your cause and gets you a few brownie points.

(Generally speaking)

You know he'd be right at the top of the list of people against a proposed Bible burn if a Muslim church were planning it.

I think you're probably right.

I am not sure that the 1st Amendment covers this guys actions....here's why:

We can all generally agree that not all speech enjoys protection on the 1st Amendment. Yelling "fire" in a crowded theater is a commonly cited example. The idea being that speech intended to incite panic or violence and cause harm is not protected. Also, Libel and Slander enjoy no protection...but that's not relevant here. So...what is the purpose of this burning? I'm having a hard time seeing this as having any intention other than trying to incite conflict with the Muslims. If that could be shown to be true...I don't think this would fall under the protection of the 1st Amendment.

I believe the same to be true of the funeral actions of the members of the Westboro Baptist Church as well.

I wish no ill will to any member of the human race, but you can't help but feel that the world would be a better place without some people.

How can you not see an increased danger to the soldiers lives? Basicly, he's inciting violence against non-Muslims. The extremist nutjobs will use this as an excuse to recruit more suicide bombers, soldiers, etc... to the cause of blasting non-Muslims into oblivion.

That's not true. We've seen examples of increased violence in both Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as other places, as a response to actions by others who either intentionally or unintentionally incite this kind of offense to Islam. And terrorists also it quite effectively as propaganda to help their effort in recruiting more people. The results are real and it does have an impact on soldiers fighting in the Middle East. That's precisely why the one of highest ranking military officials--not the media--decried to proposal to burn the Qur'an. Yes, there's a lot of things people could be doing right now if they truly wanted to help out the troops, but that doesn't detract from the fact that this dumbfuck is indeed jeopardizing the safety of soldiers currently in the Middle East and elsewhere.

Not all religions are fucked up. Jains, for example, are pretty cool.

Any religion that calls you a Jina for doing something well has more than a couple of issues.

Holy shit!! I just saw on TV that this guy cut a deal with the Imam building the Community Center/Mosque near "Ground Zero"...

He calls off the planned 9-11 burning, and the Imam will relocate the Mosque.

I wonder how THIS turn of events will be seen overseas?

"I told the pastor that I personally believe the mosque should not be there, and I will do everything in my power to make sure it is moved," Musri said. "But there is not any offer from there (New York) that it will be moved. All we have agreed to is a meeting, and I think we would all like to see a peaceful resolution."

Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf said he was surprised by the announcement and that he would not barter."

If anything, I think the: "Move your church or I torch your bible" agreement is more offensive.

Wow... that's not the story I saw on the news, from the way that "Christian" guy was talking, it was a done deal.

Not that he'd lie to us, or anything.

I'm actually surprised the meeting happened in the first place.

iggy what he said in a way was right, Bridgett reason wasn't correct. the reason should be simple, one cannot be blamed for actions of another. the fact that they want to kill this man saddens me just as much as it saddens me that hes actually gonna burn quarans.

also the article is biased to hell.

My point is, this is what happens when radical fanatics get publicity. If none of the news outlets would give this guy any attention, it wouldn't really be a problem. His actions ARE going to be viewed around the world as an "American" event, even if 99.8% of Americans condemn the action. He's basicly doing the same thing his counterparts in the Muslim religeon are doing.... Lumping everyone of a specific religeon as an evil entity, and taking action against everyone of those who's beliefs differ from his own. Maybe he's not killing anyone directly, but his actions will cause people to lose their lives.

The way I see it, he's no different than Bin Laden.

He does pretend that he only hates Muslim radicals, I saw it on TV. Bin Laden doesn't even make excuses, which I have to say I almost prefer, because at least he is honest.

Turns out, even though he didn't burn the Quran people still rioted and killed one another.

That will show us in the west to be tolerant!
