What are you talking about, every class is easier to play in FF because of things like autojump, seeing where your shots actually go when conced, splash damage radius, not having to press crouch when ramp sliding.

so yes all the classes are easier and no, one class does not counter the other. A sentry gun does nothing to a scout in FF and every team is completely reliant on an exceptionally good demoman and one of the reasons being because in FF every scout will rampslide perfectly every single time.

Back to the original point of this thread...

How about increasing the base movement speed of the scout by 20 units, without changing the bhop cap. It'd make scout better for newbies without drastically changing the effect in competitive play.

And remove the jump pad, bring back caltrops.

That means the game is easier to play, which is never a bad thing.

If it's too hard to stop scouts, that means other classes need to get better abilities for stopping scouts. It does not mean that we need to leave in meaningless technical hurdles for basic actions like moving around.

So i guess what i'm saying is in bunnyhop on tfc you could glide just that little bit before the next jump if your timing was good to give you that extra bit of speed overall.
Oh, alright. I was not aware of that technique. I didn't bhop much in my TFC days, and I didn't play much after the cap was put in place either.

I've lost the point to this discussion, but I'd like to conclude that this type of invisible physics exploit, while skillful, is not something I want in FF. Every skill or action taken by a player should be at least noticeable by a newbie, even if they don't know how to do it at first.

I don't think the game is 'easier' (Hint: It's not), it's more accessible while still maintaining a reasonable level of skill requirement.

Couldn't agree more, but I really doubt that will happen.
