How do we convict myg0t tag users?

Greetings all,

It seems my server had a sniper with special powers, seeing he had the myg0t tag infront of his name.

How do we handle these people?
After a bit of chatting with the person on steamfriends it seems it was just a sick joke. How does the community think about this? Do we (asin myself being an old TFC / cs1.6 player and server hoster) still convict them and use the banhammer on sight?

Convo from steamfriends (name has been altered for obvious anonymous reason):

Well the guy obviously did it as a joke as people were assuming (joking or not) that I was 'hacking'.

I don't expect to see many of those guys on FF, but there is a lot of them and they do like to harass small communities as much as large ones.

Could just auto-ban anyone wearing their tag, those that are messing around changing their name will get banned but they can always appeal if you will listen to them. Generally though, anyone joining a server with their tag doesn't really have an excuse.

Anyway I don't see it as reducing his rep as a player or anything, silly it might have been but it's pretty harmless. The worst part about it is that it shows the fame of that idiotic clan, which is precisely what they wanted in the first place.

i understand an autoban for the mygot tag, if someone was just wearing the tag to look "cewl" and gets banned they can always ask for an unban with reason like he did.. well, he says it was just a joke
a stupid one but some people just don't think about consequences

so i'd just unban him and keep an eye out for him he doesn't behave he gets banned again.. simple

Lets relate this behavior to an analog in real life.

Steven comes into a restaraunt that you own. As soon as steven is inside, he rolls up his left pant leg, and starts throwing gang signs at everyone who will give him attention.

He would be gone from my store. Instantaneously. Sorry Steven, it's not funny.

set the different spellings in the proper .cfg file insta kick. Kicks with a message two I believe.

If myg0t were the Bloods, then servers admins like Rawh must be the Crips. I mean, aren't the Crips supposed to diss or beat someone in Bloods gang uniform, on sight?

Gang task force unit, a few members of which will go any length to make the collar.

Like PKs and PPKs in the old rpg world.
