Compromised

Hey guys, I am posting to tell you that my steam account has been compromised and to remove me from your friends list if I happen to be on there. It worked great last night, I go to log on today I get a steam error saying "Can't connect to the steam network because there is no information stored on this computer" Steam updated itself and is now asking for my password to my account and it isn't what it should be...The account is so old that it is tied to an old msn.com account that I can't even begin to remember the password to...anyway, that is all.

create a ticket to have steam change your password, all you need to do for proof is write your account name on one of your games' cd keys

Yeah, I had something similar happen.

Two things. One, make sure the old e-mail account is still yours or inactive. Two, get any information you can that links the games on the account to you (receipts, CD keys, etc.). If both of these are taken care of, put in a ticket and get your account back. It shouldn't taken more than a day.

After patiently dealing with the Steam support people I am happy to say that I have recovered my account. I apologize if the person who was in possession of my account disturbed any of you, but it is safe to re-add me if you previously removed me. Thanks for everyones help.
