To the FF community:

I am taking a moment to officially announce, after a year of playing, my retirement from Fortress Forever. I want to thank the teams I was a part of: dbd, orbital and of course, my homies from .gr as well as our buddies over at mimic and all the players who made this game fun. We had many good times.

Lately, however, through directions this game has taken, the overwhelming abundance of fuckwad-asshats (mostly in goodfellas) and the inconsistent play from competitive teams (including my own), this game has become less and less fun and more like a chore. One of the only reasons I played this game (aside from the fun gameplay) was because my old buddies from TFC came to join me (tr, k1, c1, assneck) and the addition of the new guys (cake, elwood, bowser, rug). You boys always made for an entertaining and, mostly, hilarious match or pickup. Thank you for everything.

Unfortunately, real life is calling and I must hang up the headphones and move on with life. I wish everyone the best and I really had a blast. Enjoy OB - I hope it all works out for you.

Good game, man. We hardly ever talked but the gr guys were always fun to play with or talk to on vent. Best match I ever had in FF was vs. gr. on roasted, all the way back in November of '08. Good times!

Thanks, everyone. I had a great time playing FF - it is a great game built upon TFC which, in my opinion, was the greatest game ever made with, between 2000 and 2004, the greatest community, ever, in gaming.

Elwood - It was awesome playing aside you. You're one HELL of a cool guy and I had a blast.

Thanks to everyone else - keep going strong.

ggs illo. It's the end of an era I suppose. I fully expect to receive some form of communication in the future along the lines of, "Hey Cloud, this is illo. gr is getting back together. TR and I have been playing (insert fortress game here) for a week and it's a blast. I talked to blen and k1 and they're coming back. Elwood is going to start playing when (insert an Elwood excuse here) clears up. You should come play."

And I will. It's been a blast man, all the best irl. Don't be a stranger.

lawl, perhaps. I just realized, how long our TFC/FF career lasted.. somewhere between 4 and 6 years? - how crazy is that shit? From meeting you in the ..::kings::.. (i think thats the tag) pub to starting 5v with gr.. you, me, blen, stunt and chell.. to all the 7v's, 9v's and 5v's.. it was always a blast man. We always did it for the fun and it always was with you as a part of the group. I'm sure you'll do great things in RL and I wish you all the best.

You're probably right.. you'll probably get a call from me, somewhere down the line.. after my company blows up and I'm a millionaire and don't have to work anymore... "Dude, check out this game - Mike and I have been playing it and it's fucking awesome!".. and we'll get the team back together.. but for now I need to give RL all my attention.
