Custom Texture Reference

Squeek has some custom textures he used in the torch.vmf and I noticed some were textures borrowed from maps like ff_crossover and ff_redgiant. Source isn't referencing them and my compile tool (valve batch compile tool) isn't referencing them either... and I'm wondering how to reference them... I'm sure it's something simple... can anyone help?
