shok and ppl are currently working solidly on getting FF 2.0 ready, so i suggest you wait until that's released then speak to him about how you can help out.

dude...you should totally just start working on something.
Get us a single shotgun animation...that will go a long way and it's a nice place to start.

we do indeed have a custom skeleton (custom meaning we didn't use valves)
i think our pipeline for the characters was/is:
We do have some source files for models but I'm not entirely sure we have everything that would be needed if one were to try and compile an existing model RIGHT NOW. There were issues in the past with people not committing their stuff to SVN. Anyway, if someone does make it on the team you would then have all those available resources... and you would need to talk to aftershock about that as I'm pretty sure we're not just going to give out all the source files (well, the ones we still have anyway). Aven should be trying to contact aftershock if he/she isn't already.

I have tried multiple times to contact AfterShock, before and after the FF 2.0 release date. I didn't think it would go over well if I were to flood his inbox. At this point, I'm not sure what to do and did not know who else to contact.

you have to add it, cmonnnnnn (cough tf2 has it cough) even just a subtle tiny mm up/down or the kinda sway like in hl2 |

I've always found first person/head bobbing quite annoying.. and i'm not sure what it'd look like in a fast game such as FF (depending on whether the bobbing is linked to the player's movement).
Also, there's Idle states for all weapons.. thats a form of bobbing..? |
