hmm ewiz.com and amazon.com come to mind.
also check out pricewatch.com that will give you low prices with various e-stores along a star rating system, so you know who to trust. Last edited by Zatoichi; 04-30-2008 at 12:18 PM. |

http://www.ncix.com I'm Canadian and I have bought from them quite a few times.
I dislike tigerdirect.ca because they cost so much for delivery because they use UPS only. Even some of the smallest items can cost nearly 16 to 20 bucks just for shipping alone. While they don't have a lot of selection you might also want to check out... http://www.staples.ca http://www.futureshop.ca http://www.bestbuy.ca Sometimes you can get some good prices from them and I've gotten some really cheap shipping prices too. I bought 2 APC 900VA UPSs from futureshop and shipping was 10 bucks, they were close to 50% off at the time. I also got a router from bestbuy.ca and shipping was only 2 bucks. You might also be able to find a few things at http://www.redflagdeals.com Hope these help. What size monitor are you looking for? Here is one like what my friend bought (I'm considering it myself when I have the cash) I think this is the step up from his as I can't find his one anymore. http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...acture=Samsung This one is 8000:1 contrast, my friends is 3000:1. I didn't notice any problems with gaming when I tried it. He has HL2 orange box. Its also only 300 bucks so thats not too bad. |

Cool and congrats, I hope you enjoy. You'll have to give us a little review of it once you have it up and running.

And even if we were to get someone to get it in the US, then ship it over the boarder, there goes any savings there would have been and we might as well have just bought it locally. And if we're getting something shipped over the boarder then we're gonna get hit with high shipping costs, taxes, and duty. (thankfully we don't have to convert the money now either cause that usually tacked on an added 15% to 20%) I know when ever I get something sent to me from the states, and it comes by UPS, I always end up spending an extra 20 to 40 bucks even if that item was free. Because they pass it off to another company who charges those kinds of fees. And so far thats only been small items like a video card or psu, I have no idea how much that would be if it was a larger item like a monitor. And thats after the shipping from there has already been paid by the other person. People in the US buying from Canada don't get hit with the same costs we do, fair trade screws us Canadians over every time. The only way we Canadians could do like you suggested, is if we're saving almost 50% of the cost and I doubt he would have picked up that same monitor for around 150 to 180 bucks. If I was close to the boarder that would rock. I would get a friend to receive something, then come across the boarder with little worry about being searched, drop off the item to me and then go home. Then when they wanted something from Canada, I'd do the same thing for them. No extra shipping costs, no extra taxes and no worry about getting hit with extra costs. But this would be only if we were both within a 10 minute drive of the boarder, anything more would be iffy, but then again it doesn't matter cause I'm over 10 hours away from the closest boarder crossing. |
