For me, it was more about the potential for abuse than the minor issues of the sg shooting a dispenser that happened to kill the spy or locking on to another nearby sentry. The main motivation for that fix is that an engineeer could exploit the targeting behavior by building a nearby dispenser and not having to worry about being shot, as the sg would target it first when sabotaged, giving players enough warning to avoid it.

Screw talking about sabotoging SGs, lets first figure out how to disable idiots from building in doorways/spawns.... That is incredibly annoying and it's making people quit the game very fast...

Totally agree...Push is a prime example of this! But couldn't that all be done in the mapping stage? some maps doorways are good to build in, but if the mapper just puts a nobuild out a few feet from the respawn, I think that would solve most of the grief...

agree with kube lets get the no build in spawn doors taken care of
and i want quad to work too so we can do some demoman soldier quad jump maps ftw yeh?

Yeah, hopefully those will be addressed in the patch. We're testing it right now to see. I don't think the build-in-displacements issue will be totally resolved this patch, but (post-patch) the SGs shouldn't be able to be put totally in displacements.

also, in regards to buildables in doorways, on well if ur teammate builds a sg in doorway of your own capture point, u cant cap the enemies flag (cant get past sg as it blocks the hole). very annoying. nothing can be done unless friendly fire is on

also, is the conc bar dissapearing trick going to be fixed? as in when a nade is primed the bar sometimes dissapears randomly, regardless of if its dropped or hh.


finally, is there a rought ETA of this patch? cos im hoping to god it will bring player numbers back up.

Quad allows the effect of a rocket to hit you for 4 times the amt of damage it normally would, but also has 4 times the distance you can travel with 1 rocket. Coupled with invulnerability, you cannot die, which is where rocket jump maps come into play for the most part.

Yeah some maps would give you something like quad damage for capturing the flag (for like 30 seconds), or civvies on maps like ukfootie would have quad since they were goalies and only had the umbrella. d:

I also just wanted to add that if / when this is brought back please keep the old quad and invinsibility icons...just for nostalgic reasons!
