They added quite a few people to the beta. Basically most of the forum personalities. I feel like a jilted lover. I knew I should have posted more instead of just reading this damn forum.

Well the devs need to trust a person to let them into the beta - someone they know won't leak shit, won't ruin it for everyone else, etc. Unless they knew you already, or got to know you through the forums, why would they recruit you?

I'm still a little surprised I got in, honestly. I might be a post whore, but... well, I'm a post whore.

I realize this isn't directed solely at me and I agree with your point, but I clanned with a few of the original dev team (schtoof, sev, bd, ghroth). I just didn't want to beg for a spot when they were still trying to keep the testing team small. When they were adding more testers, I figured I would have a shot. But I guess by that point, they had gotten past adding beta testers by favoritism (which didn't work) and are now adding by proven trustworthiness in the forums (a good method).

The only problem for me with that is that I don't usually post much because everything I could possibly say is eventually said by the more reasonable posters anyway. I'm not a fan of wasting time trying to be the first to make a point, so I only post when there's something I'm sure everyone else is missing. That doesn't mean I haven't been visiting the website multiple times a day ever since it was basically only a text list of the dev team. Anyway, no point in whining I suppose. In fact, I probably should have stuck to my not-posting policy in the first place, heh.
