My thoughts on FF and TF2

I was a hardcore fan of qwtf and found tfc to be slightly off from good old tf. I have played a few other tf mods but none of them were that special. It was a very long wait for tf2 to come out, but i was unable to play it untill a few weeks ago. I was not that impressed with tf2. I felt that a lot of key parts of the game had been left out. I'm sure the game is still fun to play but to me it was a waste of $50 for the orange box.

I went into a deep depression untill I remembered that Fotress Forever came out roughly the same time as tf2 did. I have had limited time with ff but i can already tell that this is what i was looking for in tf2. I really think you guys have done a better job making a fortress mod then the guys that did tf2.

I do really miss the old days of qwtf. It's sad knowing that your favorite game will at some point lose it's players. Hopefully this mod would stand the test of time and be around for many of years.

ps. what the hell were they thinking when they left out grenades in tf2!??!?

Remember there is still Portal and the Half Life 2 games to make it worth it. And I will always be here to play FF with people.

Yeah, this has been done to death a thousand times over... nothing wrong with a "Hi, I'm new" thread but the TF2/FF/who's better/wtf thing is tired.

Welcome to the community, etc., but let's not bring this all up again.

Edit: Ruta: I'm going to keep deleting them, too, until you post something useful.

Who said this had to be a tf2/FF debate, he was simply expressing how he felt on both parts.

Welcome to the forums!

True true, but I really only bought the orange box for tf2. Though I am having fun with the other games.

Well it's good to have you. I love seeing new faces, and hopefully you'll stick around, as this mod is continuously being updated, even if it doesn't look like it. Lots of stuff goes on behind the scenes.

ps. ( nice job on free marketing ) check it out, posted on http://planethalflife.gamespy.com/ by John Phillips himself...

All of the classes are there from the speedy little Scout to the fat man himself, Mr. Heavy Weapons. I, of course, chose my favourite class first, the HW Guy, and here is where the real shocker came. Everything was where it should be, there was of course the (very well modelled, textured, and animated) mini gun, shotguns, and crowbar, but when I cranked up the mini gun for a little test fire, I was a little taken back by what I saw. Instead of just letting ‘er rip and blowing through every round I had, I was somewhat limited in this capacity. Comparable to Day of Defeat’s machinegun overheating, the fat man’s mini gun does the same thing – you can even see the barrels heating up as well, which I thought a nice touch. This is a prime example of Fortress Forever balancing out the classes, not by weakening them, but making you think a little more before you shoot.

Yeah that's almost a year old actually. Still a great review, though.
