Nests are extremely effective in TF2. The more SG's you have, the harder it is to destroy a nest UNTIL you get an ubercharge. Then it depends on the demoman you use, because only a demoman can take them out once the nest reaches 2.

However, there is a critical mass of SG's that can not be stopped by an ubercharge. This is due to the push that they have.

In FF, there are no ubercharges. The only thing that would exist to take out masses of SG's would be a demoman. The problem then becomes "demomen are OP!" as many pubbers usually complained in 2.0.

Hard class limits are a possibility ~ only allowing a set number of engineers per team. It's what some servers do and what vertigo does now.

There's a problem with that, though, and that problem is engineer hogging. It could then be used as a tool to grief. If somebody doesn't build an SG as an engineer, that can really hurt a team.

These are the kinds of problems that exist with balancing anything in the game.
