He got what was coming to him, and it was Blanton's first game of the year. Happened again the next day when Hamel's was pitching, Top of the Ninth.

I'm not surprised it didn't happened tonight, that and Kendrick pitched a good game.
Sad thing is, the kid called his dad and asked if he could do it, the father said yes. Then Hamel's game, the guy posted it on Twitter and Facebook, wouldn't doubt if he's deleted both of them already, along with his myspace page.

The focal point of the controversy is whether the taser should have been used. I'm OK with it being used and I think that "douchebag" is the perfect word for this little punk.

Taser's are designed for this purpose. It did its job exactly as it should, and he deserved it. I also think the taser should have been used, and am glad that it was.

Tasers are meant to be a nonlethal alternative to the use of firearms. (The lethality of these weapons, however, is well-known; just ask the families of its many victims.) The weapon is dangerous. I don't think it should be used to stop pranksters, no matter how much testosterone-fueled men love to see it.

You guys don't think it was overkill? He was not posing any bodily harm to anyone, and there's no way he could have escaped. There's better ways of punishing people, like, you know, the justice system? Give him a big fine, or force him to do some community service, I'm sure he won't do what he did again. That's more effective than pumping him full of (potentially fatal) 50,000 volts of electricity

However, the taser approach was idiotic. Not only because he was a harmless 'criminal', but because it's illegal. A federal appeals court ruled recently that a taser should only be used when "the suspect poses an immediate threat to the officer or a member of the public". Neither of those conditions were met.

Being desensitized to violence (especially from the state) is cool. I'm guessing you guys liked that joke Obama told the other day about killing the Jonas Brothers with predator drones. That was an awesome joke, I mean, violence is such a funny topic sometimes.

If they're allowed to taser some guy for streaking through a professional baseball game, then a referee who refs any sport ages 5 to 18 should get one for the parents who just won't STFU and get in your face for the calls you make. Those parents imo are far more dangerous, since from personal experience, they actually get violent.
