Soldier arena

I don't know how many people remember the good old soldier arena maps, but I was wondering if anyone would want to produce them? I would myself if I had any sort of programming skill. Basically what they were was a 4-team soldier-only deathmatch. You spawned with 4 regular grenades (no nails), full rockets and full health and armor. It was a much better way to work on improving soldier vs. soldier skillz than mulch (and really timing in general for combos and air juggles) I thought since there were ramps and different levels in the environment. It made for an all-around kickass time.

one of the paps was modeled off the blockfort arena from mario cart 64, it was a lot of fun

No doubt that a myriad of class-specific arena maps will crop-up in the days that follow the initial release.

Who knows, maybe we'll make a little map pack that's just such a thing.

I never saw soldier arena maps in the original TFC, but I have to say, I like the sound of them

They were the best soldier maps to practice on, or just play around on. I always loved sa_metal. Ah...I can fondly remember the days of Code of Honor. Good times, good times.

pfft sa_blockfort was the premier sa map, just wish they would have had a demo only versions.

I liked sa_metal myself. Blockfort was cool too though.

I want a Pyro Arena map with a "lava" setting (like most of the old DM levels) and the teams to be Red vs. Yellow (to maintain the Pyro feel).
