It depends on what you mean by "too close".

Close bases will have huge effects on the game play. Since there isn't a long yard, sniper will be used less, but so will medic/scout. Medic/scout will probably be replaced with heavier classes since the yard distance is shortened.

I see. Thanks for the input! Basically, I'm trying to keep the map from being one big chokepoint like monkey is. Thanks!

Fixed.
Also that screen shot is unfinished he still needs to do a lot of stuff before it's final so ease up.

It all depends on what your going for.

1) Pub play?
2) 5v5
3) 8v8

All different types of play.

Send a message via AIM to squeek.
Looks like a combination of bases and monkey.

May I suggest you at least put the skybox texture instead of tiles in the sky? Takes like, 5 seconds and your map is gonna look a hundred times better right away. It's probably going to help you better design the rest of it too.

Put them closer. I mean, mash them up against each other. Yards lead to yard DM. And the fact that your yard is just a flat plain means it will be boring DM.

Maybe, but I'm kind of liking the dystopian underground parking garage aesthetic.

That should work, the only thing I'm worried about is scouts concing from balcony to balcony, I'll definately check it out.

You know, you may want to put a tower up and back from the front entrances.... in case snipers may want to take up residence. The front of the base would probably cover most if not all of the yard, so snipers could concentrate on each other.

Ya want to avoid a choke then make spaces and entry's bigger with multiple routes.

I wouldn't call Monkey's yard a choke. 2fort is probably a worse choke or ss_nyx I think it's called from TFC. Hell even Redgiant's yard has more of a choke than Monkey. Or how about Well frontdoor.

If you want to know how a map is going to be exploited, choked and defended... you're going to have to show us the entire design realistically.

My screen recorder didn't work, could someone point me in the direction of something I can use to make a video of my map?
