let's do something togheter, stop beeing selfish =)
Comon we need someone else to build another part, even if it's just a couple walls.
With all the wannabe mappers in here I can't beleive nobody is jumping on this. Someone do it, or I shoot the puppy. |

Haha I'd do it but I know just the basics. I'm not really looking forward to making something then having my asshole ripped open because it sucks.

My internet has been giving me a lot of problems lately so I havent really been at my computer. As of right now I completely redid the part of the map I did and fixed a few things, now I'm moving on to start work on the flagroom.
I second the idea in making this a sticky! |

I also think this should be stickied (or something simular). I will try to work on this sometime soon as well (im not all that great at mapping, but I think I can pull of a bit). But It will probably be next weekend. I just got a new job and Im working my butt off (For those of you who have a clue, my new job is at a factory where I do banding on Tractor Trailer Axles... yes... the 3,000 pound axles... sigh :/ oh well 11.80 an hour and 17.70 an hour overtime )

Just a small update:
Like I said in my last post, I redid my part of the map to fix the geomertry in the architecture and got rid of the dev textures. The flagroom is coming along nicely, but slowly, and I plan on posting screenshots here in the near future. Time still isnt with me right now, but by mid next week things should start to slow down and I'll have more time to work on this project. |

Interesting concept. Perhaps I'll be obliged to participate in the future.

"For your information, 12 solids were not loaded due to errors in the map."
I have a free day today so I am going to map as much as I can. In other news, darkness24713 has taken the torch and will be the next person to work on this map. Now if I can only finish this flagroom... |

UPDATE
Well I decided to take a shortcut and do a makeshift flagroom so I can release some update. I intended for this update to make it look like there is SOME activity still going on with this project, and there is. I am now a free man and I will begin mapping full time. So here it is... Changes: 1. Reconstructed my part of the map for textures and brush fixes. 2. Made a simple flag room for people to work off. Screenshots coming soon... Download: click here |

Hey, good work so far.
Things that came to my mind when running around: - the scale of the upper flagroom, it seems a little bit too small. - the round corner I looked at was still fucked. - we need a map layout |

Here's a layout
I thought it was important to have some kinda of layout established so that everyone would build in the same direction. It's just a suggestion you know, if anyone wanna change anything it's all good.

fast update
I was in the mood of building something after doing the basic layout in paint so here's the update for tomorrow
09-11-2005 UPDATE Screenshots of my additions: Close-up of one of the upper corridors Overview of the map View of the front of the base Ask sugii or me if you wanna participate so we can send you the vmf. info.txt updated Code:
PLEASE USE THIS FILE TO KEEP TRACK OF THE PROGRESS. UPDATE IT AND PACK IT WITH YOUR RELEASE. THANKS _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ ff_community_a001 :: 31-10-2005 :: sugii - first release ff_community_a002 :: 01-11-2005 :: Sh4x - created the basic flagroom layout with simple texturing and a couple of lights to set the mood - created a wannabe elevator to get down to the lower level that has yet to be created. (it's just a placeholder for now really) I have an idea for the elevator but I wanna wait until more of the map is done to implement it. - created a visgroup containing half of a temporary 3dskybox with an info_player_start, a light_env and a sun to be able to compile. ff_community_a003 :: 08-11-2005 :: sugii - reconstructed my first part of the map for textures, and brush fixes. - made a simple flag room, this is not final. ff_community_a004 :: 09-11-2005 :: Sh4x - put the basic map layout in paint - built the 2 upper corridors on respawn's sides to enter/escape the base - built part of the front of the base touching the upper corridors |

Indeed, it does look nice but I have one concern, and that is the fact that it is very small and very tight.
