When you try to make the sphere does it come up with errors right from the start? or does it have errors when attempting to compile/clip it?
If you can actually place the sphere on your map (and just leave it there). Use the block tool and work like your making a circle, clip edges and use vertex manipulation to line it up with the points of the sphere. It could take lots of time and work but it might be your only option. PS: To save a little time, do 1/4 of a sphere by this method then copy/paste for the other 3 and use "tools >> Flip object >> vertically/horizontally" to get it how you need it. I hope that wasnt too confusing. |

Yea i see what ur saying i guess it could work but wiht ALOT of work and time.
To answer ur question"When you try to make the sphere does it come up with errors right from the start?" yes right after i create the 16 sided sphere i go to MAP ERRORS and it says "invalid object" then i click fix and it like messes the sphere up but still keeps it in a somewhat sphere form. So then i attempt to clip it in 1/4th sizes but it wont let me |

Just a beginning teaser of what I've been working on. It's the opening gates of avanti. Not all textures, lighting, brushwork, etc done of course.

SOUNDMAN ur map is looking awesome!! BTW where did you get that rock, stone texture for the floor in first pic? it looks nice. btw i think you should take away that fence and maybe add small broke rocks or something like that. and the stone walls...are you gonna keep them like that? stone walls remind me of a castle and im pretty sure that avanti was a small village. Try something like ravenholm from hl2 but not the industrial houses and stuff liek that just use some wood and such it would be cool.

yea a lot of the materials are from CS:S actually imported into HL2DM. As are the models as well. Texture wise I'm not even close to what I want to do really. Except with most of the ground stuff. Some of the cobble stone stuff I'll use as well. I'll keep everyone posted, but yea I know those aren't the textures I'll end upwith for this map.
