I played tf2 for about a month before i decided FF was better. I was also trying out COD4. These weapons upgrades remind me more of that. I was so confused when i first started cuz everyone had all these kick ass guns.. and i had a piece of shit. I really dont like the whole earn your weapon thing. Level the playing field.

Looks like if you want 100% of them you are pretty much going to have to fakegame to get them as some of that stuff would only happen against a team of complete brain-damaged fools like the heavy 30-kill or punching one. |

These weapons take an already terrible concept (crits) and make it even worse. And the ubercharging bonesaw? Wow.
The only non horridly overpowered weapon out of this bunch is the new syringe gun. I assume all the other classes will be getting equally overpowered things so I guess it'll all "balance out" in the end... |

Yeah, I remember the first days of BF2 when I started unlocking guns, by going up in rank, and it was not something that I would describe as cool. Having a ton of kills in one round as a helicoptor gunner....now that's cool. I don't think any video game should reward players who simply have more time on their hands...and I know there are quite a few of those. I could see if you could unlock/purchase guns within a map or round like CS.
The only way that time played should ever benefit a player is that you become more proficient at it. It's a cool bonus, that in this case is free, but it's not going to make me want to play it.

The point isn't to try and unlock them as fast as possible though. I used to do that with Xbox games. I'd try to find every time, do x thing x amount of times, ect. What happens is you get so caught up trying to get the achievements you quit having fun. You can get a lot of the current TF2 achievements by just playing and enjoying the game. Sometimes its more satisfying (to me at least) to get one when I wasn't trying for it especially now when its announced that you got it. The problem is most people aren't going to do that.
For example: Triage: Deploy an Ubercharge on a teammate less than a second before they are hit by a critical explosive Who wants to be the guy not getting ubered because the Medic is waiting on a crit rocket that he may or may not catch in time. The unlockable weapons sound really cool but some of those ways to get them do not seem too useful unless someone is just playing and getting them on accident which for the majority isn't going to happen. I'll go ahead and admit my guilt though, I'm playing Medic for awhile. You'll Feel a Little Prick: Assist in killing four enemies with a single Ubercharge on a Scout I can't wait to see all the medic chasing friendly scouts for this one. haha Last but not least I do not like achievements like this: Family Practice: Ubercharge ten of your steam community friends I'm sure this is great for clanners but I stick to pubs. I see more mass friend invites which is obviously a way to get people to use the steam community more. Overall I look forward to this patch I just doubt I ever get every single achievement. |

seems like the crit uber would suck ass against a good team you spot it everyone hides except a medic with an invul uber and blow there face off i think there desperate for new ideas cause the game is dull but thats just me id say there better off making tweeks to the gameplay rather than just adding more eye candy to the game dont matta to me though i play ff now
although i cant deny i miss tearin people to peices with the fatty some people think they can outsmart me... mabye... mabye... ive yet to meet one who can out smart bullet |

That is true, so it will be quite hard to get some of these achievement. And some are just stupid:
Placebo Effect: Kill five enemies in a single life, while having your Ubercharge ready but undeployed This one you'll have to risk dying with an unused uber. |

Hardly an innovative idea but still it usually makes games a little more interesting, however it won't change the fact that TF2 is god awful.

Stupid things to argue about: someone stating opinion as fact.
Acknowledge that it's an opinion and shut your goddamn mouth. Quote:
That's who these achievements appeal to, you know? People in 32-player servers. I doubt Valve gives a flying shit about the leagues.
