Help!

My Logiten headset's volume controls wont work, via buttons on headset. It runs through the USB and it also has a mic. I have no idea what model or series it is, and I don't know how to check to find out. Can any one help?

*Addition*

Forgot to mention. I swithced all my audio files from windows to real player...and then back to windows. I noticed problems with the first switch to real player so I went back to windows. It works better then it did on real player, but now the volume controls on the headset wont work.

Do a system restore to a point before you made the original switch

Uninstall the headset drivers and then reinstall them... right click on My Computer and click on the Hardware tab. Next, click on Device Manager. After that, try and find your headset on the list. Uninstall the drivers for it and restart your computer. The headset will reinstall itself. That might fix the problem.

Remember to only uninstall the drivers if you are *sure* it is your headset, 'kay?

is it not working at all? or just not the volume control?

if its not working at all i'd suggest going into your control panel and checking your sound options...make sure you have it chosen as your sound/voice device...

Just the volume control buttons on the headset. It's becoming a pain in the ass to minimize the game to keep fuckin with the volume.

Thanks for trying, but I think that those instructions would be for windows XP? I have windows 2000. I shoulda mentioned that before, sorry. Also, I went to Add/Remove hardware and it came up with a list of all my installed hardwear. I saw a bunch of USB stuff but I coulnd't find any thing significant to Logitech or a headset Is that something I can google? *tries it either way*

No, it doesn't. All you do is plug it in and it starts the installation program. And I can not find it any where in my program files -_-. And I'm not sure what the name of it is in my hardware, i've found a bunch of USB's but no clue to which one. And before any one asks, no, there was nothing about logitech or headsets w/e in any of the names names.

Sabre, I found my Logitech USB listed NOT in the USB section of the hardware, but under the SOUND section. Its listed plainly as USB AUDIO DEVICE, and under its properties, it says:
Device Type: Sound, Video & Game Controllers
Manufacturer: 9Generic USB Audio)
Location: Location 0 (Logitech USB Headset)
Sorry if its different then yours but, I have Win XP.....so hopefully it puts you in the right direction.

Ok, well. I found it. Uninstalled, and re-installed it. But the problem didn't go away. I still can't change the volume via headset controls -_-. I hate my computer.

This will certanly help:

Get your headset gently from the desk.
Disconnect it.
THROW IT ON THE FLOOR WITH ALL YOU ANGER AND THEN JUMP ON IT UNTIL IT'S COMPLETELY BROKEN.
Go to the store.
Buy a new one.

If that doesn't solve the problem, do it all again, but with your computer

Wonder why your headset can't be normal and just have it's own volume control rather than activating the windows one. You may have to re-install Windows... have you tried plugging your headset into a different USB port on your PC?
