Unreal Tournament 3

So uh, UT3 right.... yea....

I got to play Unreal Tournament 3 at this year's San Diego Comic Con International 2007; the Maximum PC & PC World booth features some recently released games as well as unreleased games; and UT3 was the highlight game, featuring 30 frag deathmatch tournaments every half hour and the winner got some PC hardware (anything from processors and ram to motherboards and floppy cables; even a laptop or two).

I would have to say that this game is flawless in every way possible; and the only thing that made it un-enjoyable was the inability to change the sensitivity in this build of the game (Comic Con specific build disabled alot of options).

The weapons are fucking amazing (although the flak cannon looks fucking huge now); the maps are massive, even some of the smaller arenas are pretty damn big; and the performance is flawless (the machines we're running geforce 7 series graphics cards w/ 2 gigs of ram and a 2.4+ghz processor).

Oh yes, and if you run the game on the lowest graphical settings; it looks about the same as Unreal Tournament 2004; the maps load almost instantly and the art (meshes and textures) are stream loaded into the game after the base load of the map.

Simply put, my social life dies more than it already has come November...

That's Awesome!! I've been playing a lot of Unreal Tournament Game of the Year edition at late, which is old but still fun. I'm def. gonna buy that one it comes out tho.

Great info. The UT series is probably my favorite deathmatch style game. I'm glad that legacy looks like it's going to continue.

I'll say this; the game feels more like Unreal Tournament: Game of the Year Edition, than it does 2k3 or 2k4...

The UT series is tons of fun and very pretty. Even so, I could never stay hooked to one for more than a month or two.

First (and only) time I played Unreal Tournament GotY Edition was at a LAN Party at NJIT back in March 2005. I remember we were on some lowgrav map, and my friend was using a sniper rifle. I remember standing below some tower and bullet shells were just slowly raining down one by one in front of me, going *tink*, *tink*, *tink*.

You heard wrong. The PC and PS3 versions are getting a simultaneous release w/ limited exclusivity this November. Early to mid 2008, the 360 version will hit shelves.

I was about to say Nuk3m bursted my bubble lol, I hope it's on PC. I tried to Play 2004 and it was just too difficult for me iunno lol, I had Game of the year edition down first time I played it, but I couldn't hang with 2004.

i thought it was coming to 360 too until i found out Sony was able to gain exclusive rights to the title. im not sure how far the rabbit hole goes, whether its just UT3 or if it the entire franchise

Sorry, Nuk3m, you're only partly correct.
UT3 will come out for the PC and the PS3 at the same time, and in 2008 it will come to the 360.
