When that negatively affects the lives of innocents. The common people of these countries have been put in the way of this when im most certain they want no part. Oh ya and go Israel, maybe they can knock some sense(failing that, bullets) into those kidnapping bastards.

That's kind of black and white don't you think? Seems to me there's more gray than black and white for any issue. Varying degrees of support for what Hamas and Hezbollah are doing by people in those areas. Are they truly innocent? Take the US in it's Middle East Involvement and the War on Terror. I may disagree with the way it's been carried out but I agree with alot of the goals. I certainly am not going to distance myself from my country in this matter. Would I still be an "innocent"? Fact is, if I were in a war zone like this I would be just as much a threat to "hostiles" as our active military would be.

There certainly will be supporters but at the same time there are going to be people who live there because that is where they were born and can't find anywhere else to go and just want to live their lives out to the best. They may not give a shit about some dispute between their country and another.

I also agree with you to an extent on the Iraq war thing, I think at some point Iraq had to be dealt with and that slowly but surely turning the one of most violent parts of the world into a society much like our's is a good thing.

Fact is, if I were in a war zone like this I would be just as much a threat to "hostiles" as our active military would be.

From all your talk about citizens owning guns in a previous thread i wouldn't be surprised if you were more of a threat

FWIW, I don't have a ready good answer for the poor unfortunates that get caught up. So long as there's been human warfare there's been "collateral damage and casualties". Frequently they're living in a country that does not permit the freedom of movement that we take for granted in the West.

As far as gun ownership goes and what kind of threat I'd be I'd also point out that I'm retired military so my attitudes about such things will likely be much different from the general public.
