Yeah, I've got another question.

Say, after FF is released, and the dev team decides to make a minor skin change in something, or add another gren to the sniper, or any thing like that. How would the FF comunity go about downloading such updates? Any updates. I remember a while back there was a "can you get FF uploads from steam?" thread earlier, but I don't think a solid answer ever came through.

Well seeing as Valve has to sanction any third party program being distributed through Steam, I doubt it.

Expect a *gasp* downloadable patch file (http, bittorrent, or Vapour)

Same way every other mod does it: word of mouth, server admins update, then when Joe-Sixpack Player joins a server it says: SERVER FILES DO NOT MATCH CLIENT PLEASE UPDATE or something similar

What a random query. The game isn't out yet and you're already thinking about that. Wasn't the answer already obvious.

The Wireless, it's the way you read it back to yourself. Because I haven't said something relating in false laughter at the end of my sentence or added a emoticon doesn't mean I am flaming.

My post was unnecessary, but I felt like it at the time.

But G-Mod 10 is a Valve supported mod, like I bet BMS will be too.

When an online game is made, there are always changes made. Maybe beacuse it wasn't 100%, maybe because they're putting in an actual skin instead of a placeholder. Either way, if the time comes I want to know how to do it.

P.S. Go fuck yourself. And have a nice day.

*EDIT*
Another question. I was gonna ask that this be answered in a dev journal but if it were answered here that'd be fine by me. (Though a journal would help inform those followers not in the forums).

How's the bug squashing going? I havn't heard any word about that for a while. Do you all (the dev's, or even beta testers) feel that you're making a big dent in them? Or is it more like, every time you fix one, a new one pops up?

Squashing is going well. Jon's been doing most of that lately. I'm working on the hint system. We ran into an interesting bug during the last playtest where rail gun projectiles would get "stuck" on a certain surface w/o getting removed. Was pretty funny 'cuz they made the wall all glowy. Wasn't so funny when it started to hard-core lag the server We actually had to enable no-clip so we could fly in and make all the projectiles "hit" a player's body (and so be removed).

What does this entail? When you say "hint system", the first thing that comes into my head is the system in games such as BF2, where the first time you perform an action, or stand in a place where you can do something (e.g. get in a vehicle, capture a command point etc.), this bloke whinges on and on about it in an annoying American drawl with accompanying annoying tool tips.

It's fine (and helpful) the first time, but after a couple of format/reinstalls it wears a bit thin.

If it's a system such as this, I'd be grateful if you could include an option to disable the tips. The obvious downside to this is that new players might join up, think it's another deathmatch game and then quit, never to play again. To prevent this, you could make the option available through a config file/commandline switch, rather than a menu option, as I'm sure most players will want to learn about the game when they play it, but not be forced to endure "press space to jump" when their little brother accidentally deletes their steam directory.

Obviously, if the hint system you're talking about is nothing to do with this, ignore my post in its entirety

Yeah, similar to that. You'll certainly be able to turn it off via console or menu option. Also, it won't be set up to play the same hint over and over.
