Steam Forum Situation Resolved.

We have been able to sort the steam forum situation out. ( see other thread for details)

Casual mention and discussion of FF is now permitted on steamforums. However please respect the fact that steam forums are meant principally for steam distributed games.

Many Thanks to Valve for working with us to sort it all out.

And thank you for everyone who expressed concern and the original poster who set the ball rolling.

You're right Hypnotic and I didnt mean to suggest that any conditions are being put on FF discussion. Only wanted to emphasize that we shouldnt abuse the new situation just because we can now post about FF,

The other mods don't show any potential competition for a mod Valve has planned on working on and announced in the past (except maybe Black Mesa: Source).

What I'd like to know is why there was restrictions at first. I think it's a fair question, but I don't expect an answer.

Speculations are gonna go on and on lasting forever like a fortress (get it?) if nobody answers that simple question. Sometimes it ends up beeing worst to try to cover a fact instead of simply making it public to end the story.

No, it was most likely down to a number of issues and to take any one of them out of context would be doing a disservice to the people concerned.
