HL2 SP/MP Storymode on a LAN

Does anyone know if there's a way to play the SP storyline of HL2 in multiplayer mode on a lan? I'd like a way to play along with my son and that seems like it might be a great deal of fun. Doom2 used to do this and it was an absolute blast...can't remember if HL1 ever did though...

I played an early early version of this when HL2 first came out. It is a blast. I think its really awesome of you to play games with your son like that.

Update, well I still haven't purchased HL2 for my son but I DID pick up BF2 for 9.99. Playing that in COOP LAN mode natively has been a blast. It would have been nicer if we could have launched it without the one bot...but oh well. It gave us something to shoot at. His reaction when I did a roll in the jet at about 20 feet off the ground with him as the WSO was awesome!

I just wish I could get the damned joystick working right...
