Latest SDK Update
Well, aside from wiping my FF mapping config, once I got it all set up as it was, it's giving me a new error upon opening hammer: "Can't load FileSystemOpendialog.dll", as well as a FATAL ERROR about a missing material ("editor/flatnocull") when I load a map up.
Tried the fix on the Valve wiki about the first error, didn't work. Haven't found anything on the second yet, though hopefully fixing the first will fix the second. Anyone else getting these?

Well, after some digging around, I found the fix for this on the steam forums.
You need to add -engine ep1 to the source SDK's launch options.

But yeah, the recent update seems to be a little rough round the edges.

I forgot which forums I was on... they are valid on another forum. I likes to indent my paragraphs whens I cans!

Maybe I will write everything using the code tags so I can properly indent my paragraphs like I want to. Besides, the font is so old school - I love it!

what i done was set the launch option like above then i went to:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\yourname\sourcesdk\bin\ep1\b in and replaced the gameconfig in there with the one(with FF settings) that i had copied and saved onto my desktop incase something like this happened.

Had a problem with my hammer last night, getting materialsystems.dll error when trying to compile.
If anyone runs into that, see if you set your compile options to the orangebox/bin folder instead of ep1/bin like it should be lol. |

If you know a map/vmf that has the props you want, you can copy and paste them.hahahaha lol....I just did that with 3 of my props so I could move on in a map I'm working on. The props were tables and chairs and gates. Last edited by sir_frags; 11-09-2007 at 03:14 AM. |

Thanks.
Turning off the VGUI model browsers makes it stop crashing but makes finding props almost just as lame Prolly gonna wait to work on my map still since thats the main thing I was working with (props/lights). Ill probably just rough out one of the other maps I was thinking about making or finish making a 2fort I roughed out cause I didn't want to work on my map or start anything new since I thought it would be fixed fast, though I probably wont (or it wont be really pretty or anything) cause I dont wanna spend time on remakes, unless noone makes rock2. |
