What was the map with the capture points? Warpath? I always had a hell of a lot of fun on that one. It had 5 capture points and the middle was a bridge. A real meat grinder. Also there is Flagrun where you must cap all 4 flags, the concept should be redone, but the map was unpleasant itself. Well was great too (if I am correct that one had the poison gas and the courtyards).
So if they aren't being made, the two mentioned plus rock2 and badlands Can I ask this; what game types beside cap the flag will be included? I would love to build a map with 2-3 concentric rings you must run across which have giant rolling balls spinning at different speeds through them, sort of like a particle accelerator, or a rectangular map with bumps on it, and a giant capsule shaped object which you must knock into the opponents' area to score and to crush them. It could bounce a bit so people could have a nice crushing. here you go... http://files.far2cool.com/half-life/tfc/maps/ |

Map
Did any one ever play that map with 2 forts that looked like castless and some hills in between? You could rocket jump from the outside of the front of the fort to the flag..but the flag was on a tall poll with a small round platform on it just the size of one player. So it was hard to land on and get the flag that way. Also made it easy to knock people off of it just as they got the flag before they had it some times. Any how was a fun map. Would like to see all the old maps come back some day. Any one seen the HL2 DM vertions of 2fort and well? They are perty lame IMO. Too dark and not well suited for DM style play any how. But fun to see the HL2 GFX in effect on old time TFC maps.

Now way man, start a new project. How's this idea:
Make a map that takes place inside a cage in a science lab. All the players have been shrunk down to tiny size. One player has to escape, and become normal size (read: be teleported into the 3D skybox) and... aim some sort of device at the cage or something. Maybe gas the whole place and everyone has to jump into the water dish. I don't know. This idea only went half way... |

a half-life 2 escape map would be nice, maybe an underground river with drivable boats. Im not sure if FF is leaving the monster entities in the FF code but it would be cool if there were headcrabs crawling around the ceiling that would ambush your boat.

just a small note on remaking classic maps;
just be careful because alot of classic maps are classic sometimes for an unknown reason, and in remaking them the magic could be lost if things are changed, imo more care should be taken over existing maps than new ones |
