Dear fortress forever staff
Im in the process of making a trench style map for ff or hl2:dm. if it doesnt take any time can you please tell me how to make different types of sky's cause mine only works on sky_wasteland01. and also if you know how to make a working stationary gun for hl2:dm. I found a couple of tutorials on skybox making and stationary gun placement and triggering but the stationary gun didnt work and non of the tutorials for the sky box mentioned how to make the sky a different theme ex.a 3d sky that looks redish with a sunset.
please staff it would be a grand help if you provided information on this. ill show you screenshots of it as soon as i get the sky box in place. thankyou |

I know it can be frustrating not to be able to get something to work in the SDK, but please refrain from posting multiple threads on the same topic. I don't know that HL2DM supports gun emplacements. I talked to a mapper (Godzilla) who was working on an update to the Crossfire2 map for HL2DM he could get the gun emplacement to work but it only fire like a pistol and not the gauss rifle like he wanted it to.

alrite
I now know how to do the soundscapes and now i want to know how to make the ladders usable. I followed some steps from source sdk reference notes but my ladder wouldnt work. i placed the dismount points and the func_useable ladder. So i went to MAP-->check for problems and it said there was a problem with the func_useableladder "origin" point. i clicked on FIX but then i got this other weird thing.
Heres a link to the site i used for help http://www.valve-erc.com/srcsdk/Levels/ladders.html In figure 1b it shows how the func_useable ladder is at and angle but then in figure 1a it's straight up how do i make it straight up and not at and angle. Because when i press FIX on the check for problems it does the angle thing. can someone give me tips on what im doing wrong. |

From my short time in Hammer (about 6 hrs).... the top and bottom of the ladder are moveable, and so you get the angles. Move the top part in the Side view in Hammer to line it up vertically with the base

i dont know what you meen
i dont understand correctly what you meen by this the top and bottom of the ladder are moveable, and so you get the angles. Move the top part in the Side view in Hammer to line it up vertically with the base
what do you meen by this. i get this error when i click on "check for problems" Entity(func_useableladder) has unused keyvalue "origin" i got the ladder working by moving it over a bit but now when you climb the ladder and stay on it for a while the screen like rumbles it goes up and down. is this supposed to happen or did i do something wrong? |

for worldcraft "origin" was the axis which a swinging door or rotating object spun around. The ladder having an unused keyvalue is when the entity has a property set which it actually does not support
