Dropping extra items?

I'd like to get rid of a few rockets and cells for the Pyro so hopefully 1 emp won't kill me. How do I config this for him, and other classes?

Hit "X" (default) to drop a green backpack of extras.

You can discard ammo you don't use, but the only class that can discard any type of ammo is the engineer. As a pyro you are pretty much stuck with 20 rockets, 200 cells, and 50(?) shells. Pyros really have a hard time in general versus engineers and their sentries.

unless you've dropped and burned most of your ammo manually, emps > pyros and demos.

a sad fact, but pyros and demos take the fun out of sg maintenance.

The easiest way to not have all of that extra ammo is to not pick up a bag in the first place.

This is noticeably more difficult on maps like Well where there are no seperate health and ammo pickups.

Ah that's too bad. So there's no way to just drop 100 cells? I guess I'll just try to use up some of them with the flamethrower.
