Connection dropping

Installed HL2 and FF fresh and without fail, it disconnects from the game server after a minute or so. Firewall has HL2 ports forwarded correctly.

I'm running it on a Core 2 Duo, 2GB RAM, 8800GTS and 8Mb ADSL. This happens on any server I go on.

Thanks.

If you run into the installer skipping files, delete your clientregistry.blob.

Mine is located here: D:\Games\Steam\ClientRegistry.blob

Yours may be located in a different place. The steps:

Close Steam

Delete ..\Steam\ClientRegistry.blob

Restart Steam

Reinstall.

Should fix the issue

Sorted it. My Firewall was redirecting the port to the wrong PC. Fixed!

Getting the same error. A random time, usually about a minute, after joining any server the connection drops. Server browser, internet etc still work fine. Sometimes it doesn't even make it past the 'sending client info' bit on loading the map.
I don't think I have any problem with firewalls

Creating a server works fine.

I want to play aardvark :<

Yah, if you can play with a listen server, be sure to check and triple check your firewalls. Windows firewall and any hardware (routers) firewalls you may have.
